This book was recommended by a wealth mentor.
It deals primarily with “speaking the word”, positive affirmations and attitudes.
While I think the book contains many truths, it seemed to be a strange mix of metaphysics and bible quotes (without references). She speaks of eastern concepts such as karma and reincarnation, and constantly makes references to the Bible (assuming the reader is familiar it). It’s almost as though she is pulling “proof texts” from the Bible out of context.
I looked up the author (Florence Scovel Shinn 1871-1940) and found these web pages:
She says that the mind is three parts: subconscious(“power without direction”, conscious (carnal mind) and superconscious (“God Mind”). She talks about “speaking the word” which is a cross between a prayer, a demand, and a positive affirmation. For example: “Infinite Spirit, open the way for the Divine Design of my life to manifest; let the genius within me now be released; let me see clearly the perfect plan.”
This book is only 76 pages, and it gives you a metaphysical perspective of the mind and life works. If you are looking for some positive affirmations, you will find them in this book.
